REMO Resuscitation and Emergency Management Onfield - 2 Day

The course is run over 2 days and is compulsory for all those medical staff in the Premiership covering first team and reserve teams. It is not however exclusive to the Premiership teams.

Other non-Premiership teams are welcome to attend. 

All Premiership medical staff must have successfully completed the AREA Course by August 1st 2008. 

There is an examination on the course and if successful is valid for a period of 3 years.

The Topics covered are:

• Airway management
• Advanced Life support, Basic life support, Automated External defibrillation
• Spinal immobilisation
• Orthopaedic Emergencies
• Management of head injuries and maxillofacial trauma

Meal

An evening meal is included on the middle night, dress is causal.

Dress

Dress for the course is appropriate clothing for treating casualties e.g. tracksuits or similar.  Please ensure you bring clothing for day two, which is suitable for outdoor activity in any weather!

Accommodation

Accommodation is not provided as part of the course fee but there is accommodation available at a reduced rate of £65 per person bed and breakfast at the Holiday Inn. If you wish to book accommodation on the night preceding the course and/or the middle night of the course, please contact the hotel directly on 01782 557033 and ask for Leanne.   The hotel has a pool and Gym facilities. Alternative accommodation is available at numerous hotels in the Newcastle-under-Lyme or Stoke-on-Trent districts.

Pitch-side bags

From previous courses we have run, we have been asked if the pitch side bags we use in the teaching and scenarios are available for purchase.  We now have a limited number of complete pitch side bags at the course available for purchase.  The contents of the bag are those that we feel are appropriate for the pitch side practitioner in the UK.  (For those medical staff covering overseas tours further equipment may be required)  If you wish to purchase a pitch side bag cheques will be accepted.
